Local MMA: Smith wins WCFC main event

SALT LAKE CITY - Jordan Smith extended his pro MMA record to 16-1 after defeating Brandon Melendez in Saturday's WCFC Main Event.
Smith earned the victory with a guillotine choke at 3:29 in the first round forcing Melendez to tap out.
The mixed martial artist they call "Mata Ele" teaches 7th grade science at West Point Junior High in West Point, Utah.
Here are the rest of the results from Saturday's fights:
Nick Pendleton defeats Tony Strader via Ref stoppage due to strikes (4:24, Round 1).
Brittany Howard defeats Andrea Miller by Unanimous Decision (Kickboxing).
Koffi Adzisto defeats Mike Arrant by decision after the fight is stopped in the 3rd round due to an inadvertent eye poke that required 10 stitches.
Dayne Aristizable defeats Lucus Montoya by TKO 4:00, 1st Round.
Eduardo Rivera defeats Sean Whalen via Knock Out 4:34 1st Round. Sean Whalen gives his fight purse to Eduardo along with a HOUSE!!!
Dave Castillo defeats Ty Hamblin via Tap Out due to Triangle Choke 3:17, round 1.
Dan Gardner defeats Colton Bybee by Unanimous Decision. Dan donated the proceeds of all his ticket sales to utahhaitirelief.org.
Brian Thomas defeats Rober Densley via Unanimous Decision. Jordan Smith defeats Brandon Melendez Via Tap Out due to Guillotine Choke 3:29, Round 1.
All fights are governed by the Pete Suazo Utah State Athletic Commission. All MMA bouts are (3) 5 minute rounds
