Salt Lake City – Immigrant Latinos will meet this evening to discuss immigration reform and what it means to thousands of immigrants in Utah. Over next few days and weeks immigration reform will take center stage and Utah Latinos are saying “we don’t amnesty”

Former Director of Hispanic Affairs for the State of Utah and Activist, Tony Yapias, will discuss the possible impact of immigration reform to Utah Latinos. For years undocumented immigrants have been saying “we don’t want a free handout, we are willing to accept conditions” said Yapias. Most undocumented immigrants would like the opportunity to have a “work permit” to come out of the shadows. Most immigrants would like to have the opportunity to visit their home countries and have a family reunion. Most immigrants would like the opportunity to continue to build and make this country strong and contribute.
